My intention was to design an easy chair which designs itself and thus defies the designer`s control. Marshmallow consists of a rectangular, linen-covered foam block held together by a steel tube clip. At first, a vacuum treatment shrinks the foam block to a fifth of its original size. Afterwards, it swells up inside the clip like a yeast ball. Special about this easy chair is that each one swells up differently and therefore becomes a unique item.
